NANP’s Mission:

Our MISSION is to unify our profession, educate and serve our members and protect the holistic nutrition professional’s right to practice. We aim to accomplish this by building integrity and credibility through a national certification process based on high educational standards and a rigorous code of ethics.

NANP was originally founded in 1985 as the Society of Certified Nutritionists, and relies on financial support through professional and student membership dues, and by sponsorships from organizations dedicated to the principles of holistic health and education.

The NANP depends on financial support through sponsorships from schools and organizations who share our passion for the holistic approach to health and wellness. We represent hundreds of professional, student and associate members who are dedicating their lives to the principles of a holistic lifestyle. Our professional members, who currently represent over 55% of our overall membership, are involved in all aspects of the holistic nutrition industry. They include nutrition consultants, nutrition school educators, authors, TV & radio personalities, nutraceutical sales representatives, researchers, physicians, naturopaths, nurses, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and many other types of practitioners. Student members of NANP – more than 33% of our current membership - are enrolled in programs that are either approved by NANP for the training of holistic nutrition professionals or that are regionally accredited. Supporting NANP provides your organization with premium access to our members who are eager to find high quality products and services for their clients, their families and themselves.

Opportunities to Educate our Members:

Supplement & Nutraceutical Companies

Companies who offer educational opportunities for nutrition professionals and students can benefit from partnering with NANP. Our professional members are required to submit evidence of earning continuing education units in order to renew their annual membership, and our student members are hungry for educational opportunities in our industry. If your company offers continuing education units (CEUs) and your programs are at least 80% educational in content you can apply for NANP approval.

One of the ways the NANP differentiates itself from other nutrition organizations is the in-depth review of holistic nutrition and natural chef educational programs.
